This is a observational drawing of a rose that I had right in front of me. It was very difficult at first because I was fairly new at using charcoal. I wanted to use negative space as well to show the shadows and lights.
As I spent more time on the observational study, I quickly got into it and was excited to get my hands dirty in the process.
