Drawing a personal friend as a way to practice my observational drawing skills, this project was a way to capture personality and humanity in a single portrait. He sat directly in front of me and I translated the shapes I saw in his facial dynamic into my head and sketched them out on paper. I looked for details that were unique to him, such as the shape of his eyebrows and the way his nose had a sharp edge. (Created using lead pencil and paper)
